→”Everything is everywhere, but the environment selects” という海洋微生物学の有名な仮説を支持する兆候。海洋1地点について深くシーケンスして微生物群集組成を調べていくと、全球の海洋微生物群集データをカバーする率がどんどん上がっていく。シーケンス速度が現在のペースで上がっていけば、あと3年もすれば実際に検証可能らしい。
